The Texas Tech University Climate Science Center will host the latest installment of its “Science By the Glass,” lecture series. Ashley Landrum, a professor in the College of Media & Communication, will deliver a lecture titled, “It’s not a Planet, It’s a Plane” regarding why some people believe the Earth is flat.
WHEN:  5 p.m. Tuesday (March 19); discussion begins at 6 p.m.
WHERE: Local Bar and Grill, 2420 Broadway
EVENT: “Science By the Glass” is an informal discussion series hosted by the Climate Science Center. The series brings together members of the community, Texas Tech faculty and students to discuss topics in the fields of science, climate and society.
Landrum is an assistant professor in the Department of Advertising in the College of Media & Communication whose research examines the reasons people are not always ready and willing to believe information presented to them, even when it is credible, fact-based and delivered by experts, and how the methods used to communicate facts play a part.
Arrive early for food and drinks from 5-6 p.m. Landrum will begin speaking at 6 p.m. Parking will be available across the street from Local Bar and Grill.
The discussion is open to the public and admission is free.
