LUBBOCK, Texas -

A driver who had outstanding warrants is jailed after investigators said he led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through parts of Lubbock.

A Sheriff's Office deputy tried to pull over Jimmy Rodriguez, 30, for driving as fast at 98mph on the South Loop near University.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Rodriguez didn't stop and led the deputy on a chase up to North Boston Avenue and Duke Street, where his SUV's tires blew out. The vehicle also damaged a mailbox nearby, on Grinnell Street. Rodriguez tried to run away, but was caught.

He is charged with evading arrest. No one was hurt.
